Last updated: April 11, 2026
These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the Riney Electric website at rineyelectric.com and the electrical contracting services we provide. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.
Service Estimates
Estimates provided by Riney Electric are based on the information available at the time of assessment. Estimates are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated in writing.
- Estimates are not binding contracts. A signed proposal or work authorization is required before work begins.
- Final costs may differ from estimates if unforeseen conditions are discovered during the work (e.g., hidden wiring issues, code violations requiring correction).
- Any changes to the scope of work will be discussed with you and approved before additional work is performed.
- Emergency and after-hours service calls may be subject to additional charges as disclosed at the time of scheduling.
Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion of work unless other arrangements have been agreed to in writing.
- For larger projects, a deposit may be required before work begins. Deposit amounts and payment schedules will be outlined in the project proposal.
- We accept cash, check, and major credit cards.
- Invoices not paid within 30 days of the due date may be subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month.
- If payment is not received, Riney Electric reserves the right to file a mechanic's lien on the property as permitted under Michigan law.
Permits and Inspections
Riney Electric pulls all required electrical permits and schedules inspections with the local building authority. Permit fees are typically included in the project estimate unless otherwise noted. We are responsible for ensuring all work meets current Michigan electrical code requirements.
Warranty
Riney Electric warrants our workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of completion. This warranty covers defects in our installation work and does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by others, including other contractors
- Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, or acts of nature
- Materials and equipment, which are covered by manufacturer warranties
- Pre-existing conditions not included in the scope of work
If you experience an issue covered by our warranty, contact us and we will schedule a return visit to address the problem at no additional charge.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Michigan law, Riney Electric's total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific project giving rise to the claim.
Riney Electric shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of data, or business interruption, regardless of the cause of action.
Scheduling and Access
- We will make reasonable efforts to complete work within the timeframe discussed, but scheduling is subject to weather, permit processing times, material availability, and other factors beyond our control.
- The customer is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area.
- If Riney Electric is unable to access the work area at the scheduled time due to circumstances within the customer's control, a trip charge may apply.
Cancellation
Either party may cancel a project prior to commencement of work. If a deposit has been paid, it will be refunded minus any costs already incurred for materials, permits, or planning. Once work has begun, cancellation terms will be based on the percentage of work completed and materials purchased.
